Exercise and Fitness Disclaimer

The exercise guides, workout plans and illustrations on combogym.com are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. They are not medical advice, personal training or physical therapy, and they are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional who knows your health history.

Talk to your doctor first. Before you begin any exercise program, or change an existing one, consult a physician, especially if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high blood pressure, a joint or back injury, or any other medical condition, or if you have not exercised regularly.

You exercise at your own risk. Physical exercise carries a risk of injury. By using the information on this site you agree that you do so voluntarily and that ComboGym, FitnessDoctor Inc. and their staff are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage that may result. Nothing on this site creates a trainer–client or doctor–patient relationship.

Listen to your body. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest discomfort or anything that feels wrong, and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.

Use equipment as the manufacturer intends. Read the owner's manual for your machine, check cables, pulleys and attachments before every session, keep hands and hair clear of moving parts, and never exceed the weight limits stated by the manufacturer. The illustrations on this site show a generic machine; follow the instructions for your specific model.

Form matters more than load. Our guides describe commonly taught technique for healthy adults. Start with a light resistance you can control through the full range of motion, and increase gradually. If you are unsure about your form, work with a certified personal trainer in person.

The characters in our illustrations are fictional. Equipment, settings and results shown are for illustration only; individual results vary.
